Gustarosso was created to keep alive the traditional Campanian ritual of “making butteglie,” the summertime preparation of tomato preserves. Its roots date back to 1910, when the Ruggiero family began cultivating the world‑renowned San Marzano PDO tomato in Sarno. Today, the brand is supported by DANICOOP, a cooperative of 60 farmers cultivating around 200 hectares, ensuring that San Marzano tomatoes are grown and processed according to authentic, certified methods.
